- Whether he has died or not hasn't been made clear to us. From what it seemed like, the monk wasn't in the temple itself at the time of the destruction. He was in some house right beside it. And from what has been shown, the blast didn't actually enter through the side of the window of his right. So we can assume that he wasn't affected.
- But what actually happened is kept a mystery to us. The greater possibility still seems to be that he is alive.
